OUR STORY
Sometimes, you don’t truly understand “that group” until you become part of it.
FIFTEEN YEARS AGO
I became part of “that group.”
I met my now-husband shortly after he returned home from active-duty service.
We connected almost immediately.
As our relationship grew, I began noticing
things that were different—things I didn’t initially understand.
I watched the nightmares. I noticed the hypervigilance. I noticed where he chose to sit and the things he instinctively watched for.
I began to see the weight he was carrying, even when he didn’t talk about it.
