Hello everyone! I am very honored to be part of the Calm Waters Board of Directors and look forward to
serving our community in this capacity. I have had military members in my family since I was young and
am proud to be able to give back in any way I can to our brave soldiers and veterans. I grew up in mid-
central South Dakota, currently living in Brandon, SD for over 20 years. I’ve been married to my husband
Jim for almost 25 years. We have three children: Shelby 23, Ashley 19 & Sawyer 16. Jim is a Colonel
currently serving with the Joint Force Headquarters in Rapid City and has served collectively with the SD
Army National Guard for 34 years including four deployments. We know firsthand what it is like dealing
with stress, separation and reintegration. I am a mortgage lender with Central Bank. I’ve been with the
bank for 10 years. I also am a Mortgage Specialist with Homes for Heroes which is an elite group of
lenders able to give HERO rewards to groups in our community. I’m a member of the Brandon Legion
Auxiliary, have served on the Board of Trustees for my church, head coach of my daughter’s fastpitch
team for seven years and member of the Brandon Valley Booster Club. I love to garden, bake,
scrapbook, go camping and golf. My hope with serving on this board is to support Calm Waters in
achieving the fundraising goals and efforts to embody the vision of providing a safe and therapeutic
center for our Veterans to come to in order to find peace and calm in their lives. Our Veterans have
given up so much for our country, our peace and our freedoms. This is my way of supporting them in
their struggles by helping them with having a resource to get that back in their lives.
